  •  

    • For pastoral emergencies, please contact the church office. If no one is available, please leave a message – as calls are monitored every hour or so.

  • Please have all announcements into the office by 10 a.m. Thursday.  If something comes up after that time, please give the Liturgist a note before Sunday worship service.

Meetings                                                       

  •             Adult Sunday School continues at 9:30 a.m.

  •             Bible Study Thursdays, 10:30 a.m.

  •             Senior Ministry, Thursday, May 22, 11 a.m.

  •             Administrative Council, Saturday, May 24, 10 a.m.

  •             Reverend Totty to be ordained Sunday, May 18, 2008. Bus leaves at 1:00 PM.

  • A special “Thank You!!” from Rev. Dr. Darryl E. Totty is in your bulletin today. As you know, Dr. Totty is being ordained today at the Detroit Annual Conference, Herrick Chapel at Adrian College. Conant has a bus leaving from the church at 1 p.m. today and returning around 8 p.m. The fee round trip is $15.00. You must supply your lunch as the bus will not make any stops (approximately a one hour drive). Come and join us.

  •             Next Sunday, May 25, Conant will host an “Ordination Celebration” for Dr. Totty, in Fellowship Hall, right after the worship service. Everyone should plan to attend.
     

  •             The Women’s Day Committee will hold another “Women’s Day Hustle” here at the church on Tuesday, May 20 and May 27 at 6 p.m. A charge of $5.00 will cover this event. So come on out and “do your thang.” Sharon Ellington/Pamela Phelps, co-chairs for 2008.                    

  •  

  •             Conant Avenue will host Community Health Outreach Worker’s Faith Leader Training on Wednesday, May 21. The training is to provide knowledge about HIV/AIDS and how it effects society, especially the African American community. The flyer in your bulletin will explain more. Leslie Denard, Church & Society Chair.

  •  

  •             May and June are the months for weddings, graduations, etc. In your bulletin today are a number of announcements:  Shekia Bittings’ wedding, to of which we’re all invited; Jeremy Llorence’s High School Graduation Open House, to which we’re all invited; Krizia Totty graduates Magna Cum Laude from Spellman in Atlanta today.

  •            

  •             Another flyer in the bulletin today is from Wayne State University, the Division of Community Education. Please read it carefully; there may be something in it for you, your family, neighbors, etc.  

  •  

  •             Flowers on the altar today are provided by Arlette Ellington in memory of her mother, Grace Cooper.

  •  

  •             Next Sunday, May 25, we celebrate Peace with Justice Sunday. A special offering will be taken.

  •   

  • Remember:  The 2008 Apportionment for Conant Avenue totals $32,004. After calculations, the assessment for each giving unit of the church is $337.00 for the year.  We have a total of 182 members, with 95 giving units. ($32,004 divided by 95 giving units equals $337.00.)
