Conant’s Women’s Travel Group is sponsoring a trip to Washington, DC from Friday – Monday, August 27-30, 2010.

            For pastoral emergencies, please contact the church office. If no one is available, please leave a message – as calls are monitored during the day.          

             Please have all announcements into the office by 10 a.m. Thursday. If something comes up after that time, please give the Liturgist a note before Sunday worship service.

             Anyone who needs a ride to church via the church van, please contact the office.

 Meetings                                                        

            Adult Sunday School at 9:30 a.m.

            Wednesday Bible Study/Choir Rehearsal – 6 p.m.

            Craft Class – Thursdays at 10 a.m.

            Thursday Bible Study – 10:30 a.m.

             Scott Memorial UMC is holding their second annual health fair, on August 28 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The fair is free and open to everyone. (Please note flyer on bulletin board.)

            Flowers on the altar today are provided by Reanetta Harris in memory of  John and Beatrice (her aunt) Scott.

             There will not be a Fellowship Hour today.

             Please remember: Women’s Day is Sunday, October 10. Our assessment is $200.        

             Please continue to support our transportation ministry with a special gift. The cost to operate the van averages approximately $150 weekly.

             CLASS is sponsoring a Thanksgiving Weekend Getaway to see “The Lion King”, at The Broadway in Chicago Theatre. The date is Friday, November 26. Before returning home, there will be a Holiday Shopping Experience at the Lighthouse Outlet in Michigan City, IN, on November 27. The cost is $185 per person with a deposit of $85 due with reservation. Final payment due on or before November 1. (Please see flyer on bulletin board.)

            In an effort to prepare for submission of our 2010 Apportionments, we thought it wise to share the information prior to the December Apportionment In-Gathering. There are 130 giving units, thus we are asking $215.38 from each person. Thank you for your cooperation. – Finance Committee.

             For your information: Dr. Totty is on vacation and will return on Sunday, September 5.

●Tomatoes – Vitamin C and iron and Vitamin E

●Fish – Salmon, albacore tuna, mackerel, halibut and herring help with both diabetes and the heart (not breaded or deep-fried).

●Whole grains – Pearled barley, oatmeal, breads are high in fiber,.
